Wayne "Waynestein" Holstein is perhaps the most easygoing, laid back member of Rockin Horse. A talented keyboardist, Wayne has been performing for over 20 years. His leads and harmony add the finishing touch on everything the band plays. His collaborations with "Corn Cobb" have resulted in the best original music ever heard. The souls of the ancients guide them in creating soul-stirring masterpieces in music. Wayne "Waynestein" Holstein comes from a music loving family, diverse in their skills and instruments. Organs, guitars, violins, banjos and mandolins were frequently found at family gatherings. By the age of 10, Wayne was practicing chords on both the guitar and organ. In early elementary school, Wayne joined the band and earned the Most Improved Musician trophy in 9th grade. He continued his musical journey into high school. Wayne became proficient in the sousaphone and even played cymbals in percussion groups. By his senior year in high school, Wayne earned the John Phillips Sousa Award for best overall musician. Shortly after completing high school, he began running sound for the White Lightening Band (1984). After approximately six months, Wayne became the keyboardist. Returning from South Carolina in 1989, he continued his love of performing by joining with local bands such as Double Take (1989), Last Chance (1990), 3rd Degree (1993), and Tossed Salad (1994). This lead him to the Diamond Back Band (1997) which has now become Rockin Horse. |
